I was listening to the Tom Leykis show in L.A. last week and this really happened - a young man called and told Tom that God exists. His reasoning?

Since a banana is shaped to fit the human hand and be easily peeel, God is real - otherwise, the banana wouldn't fit the human hand.

When Leykis said, "Well, what about a coconut?" the kid replied that Leykis was getting off topic.


THIS is the mentality of believers! Sheesh.

I think the real point is, that if god IS indescribable, then what is the point of discussing him then?

One thing that you definately CAN say about the judeo-christian god is, he doesnt exist, not in the way he´s portrayed in the bible and by priest anyway.
because:
he´s supposed to be all-good, all-knowing, omnipotent (able to do anything and everything), then howcome he created negativity? some people will say, and have said: "Well, if there only were good things, and nothing bad, then we wouldnt know they were good",trying to attribute the responcibility to Contrasts. But that is obviously wrong since he can do anything.
So the only thing you can conclude is that god, if he exist, isnt all-good, actually he is evil because HE created evil, even though there was no need for it.
Can I get an Amen?? ;)

this is a response to "The Emancipator's" comment. As most people fail to realize, good and evil or good and bad is a man made material concept. Another thing people fail to realize is that THERE IS AN OPPOSITE TO EVERYTHING. If "good" exists, then "bad" has to. This is principle created by God, not evil itself. There is no good or bad only right and wrong. This principle is somewhat shown in the physical realm also. We have day and night, hot and cold, light and dark, etc. I doubt any atheists actually even try to look into the bible and look from the other point of view, so I challenge them to study up on their bible and learn the truth. P.S. There is a difference between truth and interpretation.

First of all I'd just like to say that you're not qualified to speak of someone you do not know... for if you've never actually met them then what you say is built on a false foundation and is heresy. The natural man cannot understand spiritual things. You receive by Faith and Faith alone,freely given by Grace. But if you are spiritually blind its because you choose to be of your own free will. Its truly odd to me that humans have always believed in things they can't explain nor understand but admit they don't believe in God because they can't see him. I had always believed,then at 27 I met him and was completely transformed. I cried for 3 weeks out of sheer gratitude that he knew me even before I was conceived. Theres an old saying that I fully believe in..A MAN CONVINCED AGAINST HIS WILL IS OF THE SAME OPINION STILL. I rest my case on that.

I believe in the all-powerful creative force we call God. I believe that God knows everything we say, do and think and the reason God knows each and every one of us in such detail is because all life forms contain part of the essence of God. Part of us is part of God and God is part of us.


I have strong reason to believe in this for the following simple reason that would probably prove to be true if scrutinized: If you study the birthcharts of babies born into wealthy families, you will invariably see the wealth-promising aspects between the natal planets. After drawing up and analyzing thousands of birthcharts, I am pretty sure of this bias.


If you can become convinced of this fact then the rest is easy. If it is true that birthcharts are "set up" because certain necessary material conditions must be met (it is hard to be a "poor" baby in a wealthy family), then it follows that there is a knowing intelligence in this design. Conditions and effects are known before the birth occurs. It follows that any intelligence that manipulates such variables can only be super-intelligent. Supra-dimensional wisdom spanning "time", everything meticulously planned. God is a good name for such a mind-blowing phenomenon, and its implications.

Dawkins is a fool. He fails to respect that other people have different ideas from him. I am an "inferior" Christian but I am probably more intelligent than he is in many fields including physics, history, geology, geography, languages and engineering.

You don't have to be an atheist to be clever, superior or intellectual. He thinks you do!

He and his contemporaries are so stupid that they read The Bible as though it is a complete, scientific, 100% accurate account of events written in the most modern style of whatever language they choose to read it in. Then they question it and question it and question it.....

It is a shame that firstly, Creationists don't publicly question Dawkins and his cronies more often and that secondly, these scientists haven't got anything more worthwhile to do with their time.
